Okay its been a while since I have made articles for actionscript, mostly because of some freelance work that has taken a lot of my time lately, so we will be starting off light with a simple function to add text to a textbox using the appendtext.

We’re going to make a flash animation water wave effect and we going to move step by step to give you a clean explanation about how to make a water wave effect in flash using masking technique.
1. Prepare an image, we are going to use it as a background of our movie, the dimension of image depend on movie’s dimension that you want to make. Here I used 325 x 130 pixel.

8.Creating Flash Panels for Photoshop using Flash CS4
Continuing with the CS4 series, let’s look at a less known feature of Photoshop CS4. The ability to create custom panels using Flash or Flex. The focus of this article will be on creating Flash panels using Adobe Flash CS4, which at the time of this writing was still soon-to-be-released.
This will actually be a two part article. In the first part we will look at how to build a “Hello World ” panel, which for those who don’t know is a common practice in scripting. You start off by building a very simple example and then move on to real world uses.

9.Creating an XML Grid Image Gallery in Flash (ActionScript 3.0)
This tutorial will teach you how to create an XML grid image gallery in Flash using ActionScript 3.0. This gallery will let you supply it with any number of image thumbs which it will automatically align in a grid manner. All of our images will be loaded externally, these images are specified in an XML file that also controls the number of columns and the position of the gallery.

You have already learned how to drag and drop and object. Now, you need to be able to detect if that object has hit another object. In this flash tutorial I will be using the mouse events, but you can easily change the code to work with key board commands.
